Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position requiring Med Surg, Telemetry or Stepdown experience and active IL RN licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg Telemetry unit
  • Care for general medical, surgical, telemetry, and oncology patients
  • Epic EMR is used and prior Epic experience is required
  • May be required to take charge or precept new hires
  • Floating within the same discipline across nearby campuses may be required
  • May be assigned to charge nurse or preceptor responsibilities as needed
  • Must be able to float between campuses within the same discipline
  • Expected to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays : Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
  • Only one requested day off is permitted between 11 / 26 / 25-11 / 30 / 25 and 12 / 23 / 25-1 / 2 / 26
  • Returning employees must not have been employed at the facility within the past 12 months

    • Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
  • Iowa RN license or proof of application for IA single-state or compact RN license required
  • Certifications required : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
  • Recent experience in Med Surg, Telemetry or Stepdown settings required
  • Some oncology experience is required
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years is required
  • Candidates must have a taxable address at least 50 miles from the facility; local travelers are not accepted
