Cost Accountant

Accountant Position

A steel manufacturing company is looking to hire an Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This is an onsite position at their Memphis, TN corporate office. They are looking for someone that can be an immediate impact to their tight-knit dynamic team. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for performing journal entries and analysis of the financial key business costs and metrics to provide the operations team with the financial perspective and information to make better business decisions. This position will work closely with all departments to analyze departmental cost and drive continuous improvements across all aspects of the business. The Cost Accountant will be heavily involved in the month end close process, including but not limited to journal entries, financial reporting, fixed asset and capital project financial management, and monthly financial reconciliations. This position reports to the Accounting Manager. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Four (4) year degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong computer skills that include experience with all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work overtime including weekends and holidays Occasional travel is required.
