An Automotive Sales Consultant, also known as an Automotive Salesperson or Auto Sales Representative, sells cars, trucks and other vehicles to commercial, government and private clients. The responsibilities of Auto Sales Consultants include communicating with customers, discussing their needs, persuading them to buy the right vehicle for these needs and promoting sales offers as they arise. These consultants also give potential customers test drives and coordinate financing.

Competent Automotive Sales Consultants are charged with making potential customers feel like they're being listened to and that their needs are being considered. These consultants also need to communicate effectively and convincingly when persuading customers of the benefits of buying a certain type of vehicle. Their main duties include :
