Financial Investigator
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Business and Financial Services Division in Helena. This position investigates residents' liability for the cost of medical and mental health services. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to : interviews residents in-person or via phone to obtain financial information as necessary; notifying medical billing technician and facility reimbursement specialist of bad debt collections; and monitoring Medicaid eligibility notices and provides notice of non-payment received to prevent lapse in coverage.

Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare insurance billing. Excellent written and oral communication. Ability to gather, verify, and evaluate financial data. Meet minimum qualifications : o Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or finance. o Two years of job-related experience in accounting, health insurance, billing and collection, or related field. o Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
