Independent Contractor (1099) - Clinical Trials Strategic Partnerships Manager -Business Development Location :

  • Remote with travel to sponsor meetings and CVAUSA practices Organization : Cardiovascular Associates of America (CVAUSA) Job Type : Contractor, fulltime Travel : ~25% (travel to CVAUSA practices, conferences, and to visit with sponsors) At CVAUSA, partnerships fuel progress.

  • The Role As the Clinical Trials Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will shape the way CVAUSA engages with industry to organize, launch, and conduct cardiovascular clinical trials.
  • You’ll cultivate and manage relationships with pharmaceutical and device companies, CROs, and other research partners—ensuring that the CVAUSA network is top of mind for them as they launch clinical trial opportunities.
  • This role is about more than coordination.

  • anticipating opportunities, marketing our practices, and aligning sponsors with the unique strengths of CVAUSA.
  • You’ll manage feasibility processes, track opportunities across practices, and support our sites in bringing the right trials to the right patients at the right time.
  • What You’ll Do Cultivate and expand partnerships :

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with sponsors, CROs, vendors, and other stakeholders in the research ecosystem.
  • Position CVAUSA :

  • Market our cardiovascular practices, capabilities, and patient populations to highlight CVAUSA as a premier partner for clinical trials.
  • Manage opportunities :

  • Coordinate and track multiple incoming clinical trial opportunities, ensuring efficient review and alignment across practices.
  • Support feasibility :

  • Lead the collection and submission of feasibility questionnaires, coordinating responses across sites for timely and accurate delivery.
  • Act as a connector :

  • Serve as the primary liaison between external partners and CVAUSA practices, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals.
  • Drive strategy :

  • Provide insights to leadership on pipeline trends, partnership opportunities, and sponsor engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate at scale :

  • Balance multiple partnerships and opportunities across a growing, multi-site network.
  • Metrics of Success Sponsor engagement growth – number and depth of new relationships cultivated across sponsors, CROs, and vendors.
  • Trial opportunities secured – volume and quality of studies brought to the CVAUSA network.
  • Feasibility excellence – accuracy, completeness, and turnaround time for feasibility questionnaire submissions.
  • Practice alignment – effectiveness in coordinating across multiple sites to ensure unified responses and opportunities.
  • Pipeline reporting – ability to track, forecast, and communicate partnership opportunities to CVAUSA leadership.
  • Partner satisfaction – feedback from sponsors and collaborators on responsiveness, professionalism, and reliability.
  • What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in clinical trial business development, sponsor relations, and / or strategic partnerships in clinical research.
  • Strong understanding of industry-sponsored clinical trials, site feasibility, and study startup processes with 2+ years of experience working to help launch clinical trials.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with sponsors, CROs, and vendors.
  • Proven skills in coordinating multiple studies and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with cardiovascular research or specialty practice networks is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to represent CVAUSA confidently with industry partners.
  • A proactive, self-starter who thrives in a fast-growing, complex, national research environment.
