Location : Austin, TX

Pay Rate : $33 / hr

Shift : 6 : 30 AM - 11 : 30 PM / Variable 8-Hour Shift / Variable Weekends / Night shift coverage as needed (No on-call)

Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in the preparation, compounding, filling, and delivery of medications. This role supports daily pharmacy operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in dispensing medications appropriate for patients of all ages (0-adult).

The Pharmacy Technician will also assist in the procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of all controlled substances in accordance with department and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist in ensuring the appropriateness of all medication doses by accurately entering patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area into the system.

Follow aseptic technique and infection control protocols in the preparation of sterile products. Complete annual recertification and achieve a minimum score of 90% on aseptic technique / infection control exams.

Ensure medication accuracy and verify against pharmacist checks, maintaining a zero-error dispensing record.

Demonstrate competence in batch, medication, and prescription order entry.

Work with Pharmacy Support Services personnel to maintain adequate medication and supply inventory. Follow procedures for stock replacement and non-formulary items.

Obtain pharmacist initials / final checks and apply appropriate dilution and expiration labeling per departmental standards.

Qualifications

Required :

Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT-TX) - Texas State Board of Pharmacy

or

Pharmacy Intern (PHAR INT) - Texas State Board of Pharmacy

IV Certification (Required)

Preferred :

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
