Job description

Per Diem Patient Transporter Opportunity

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is actively seeking a per diem patient transporter to join our team! The schedule includes per diem / pool as needed, with rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include :

  • Transporting patients in the medical center.
  • Observing for and reporting safety hazards and broken vehicles to the lead transporter.
  • Transporting patients on stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs from one area of the hospital to designated areas within the hospital campus, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Promptly reporting any concerns of patients and / or happenings during transport to appropriate personnel.
  • Cooperatively assisting in lifting patients in and out of bed as requested, exercising proper lifting techniques.
  • Cleaning wheelchairs and ensuring each area has an adequate number.
  • Keeping an incident log of transports.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma / equivalent.
  • CPR certification issued by AHA.
  • Fingerprint & child abuse history clearance (completed in onboarding if offered the position).
