Lead the revenue engine for a creative production company specializing in special-event dcor, rentals, scenic fabrication, and event graphics. As Director of Sales, youll build, coach, and scale a high-performing team (Creative Account Directors, Creative Account Managers, Program Coordinators, and Administrative Assistants) while owning the strategies, systems, and cadence that convert opportunity into profitable growth. Youll partner closely with design studios and field / warehouse operations to deliver consultative solutions that make complex programs run smoothlyfrom first brief and creative proposal through contract, installation, and post-event lifecycle.
What youll do
Set vision, structure, and standards for all sales functions : prospecting, pipeline management, proposals, pricing / contracting, presentations, and client services.Hire, develop, and lead the sales organization; run weekly sales meetings and daily business reviews; coach performance and manage incentives.Own revenue, margin, and forecast accuracy (monthly reforecasts and annual planning); operate within an approved sales expense budget.Establish and continually refine the sales methodology; build scalable playbooks, tools, and training to drive consistency and win-rates.Monitor lead flow, conversion, and top-account production; report weekly insights to leadership and use data to drive strategic adjustments.Partner cross-functionally with design, production, and operations to align solutions, timelines, and profit goals; support strategic account programs.Ensure proposal excellence (visual + narrative) that reflects brand standards and client needs; lead professional site inspections.Maintain personal quota through active solicitation, networking, and client entertainment; expand market share through targeted campaigns.Collaborate on the annual Marketing Plan; steward CRM / lifecycle programs and post-event feedback to strengthen retention.Use CRM and internal sales systems (e.g., Salesforce + company platforms) for reporting, revenue management, and product lifecycle insights.Requirments
6+ years progressive sales experience with 4+ years leading sales teams; bachelors in Business, Communications, Hospitality or related field.Success in hospitality, destination / event management, rentals, scenic / design, or related creative production industries.Proven track record building business plans, hitting revenue and profitability targets, and reacting quickly to market shifts.Strength in negotiation, analytics, presentations, and executive-level communication; adept with CRM and business software.Creative mindset attuned to event / experience trends and client aesthetics; disciplined in process, coaching, and accountability.Willingness to work flexible hours when needed; ability to navigate office, studio / warehouse walk-throughs, and event sites (occasionally lift / move up to 50 lbs).How success is measured
