Description : Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Sales Engineer to join our Sales team. In this role, you will be the technical face of our sales efforts, working alongside our Sales Manager / Corporate Sales team to secure new business and expand existing accounts. Your primary goal will be to understand customer challenges and effectively communicate how our products can deliver a powerful, customized solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer consulting : Consult directly with customers and prospects to understand their technical requirements, pain points, and business challenges. Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for various audiences, including technical teams and C-suite executives.
- Collaboration with sales team : Work closely within the sales team to qualify opportunities, develop account strategies, and handle technical objections throughout the sales cycle, this may include some travel to customers.
- Documentation and record keeping : Assist in creating technical documentation for sales proposals / quotes including responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and providing technical specifications. Keep data updated timely in both the ERP and CRM software.
- Product and market feedback : Act as a crucial liaison between customers and internal product and engineering teams. Provide communication regarding any delays to original commit date.
- Post-sales support : Facilitate a smooth transition to the implementation and customer success teams. Provide technical support during the initial onboarding phase and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
Requirements : Qualifications
Education and Experience : A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred , but not required. Or 2+ years of experience in a sales engineer or other technical sales role, preferably within the component manufacturingSales skills : Assist senior team members with sales processes and client communication, utilizing CRM software to track interactionsSkills and Competencies
Communication : Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.Interpersonal skills : Strong ability to build trust and rapport with customers, as well as collaborate effectively with internal cross-functional teams.Problem-solving : Analytical mindset with the ability to creatively solve complex customer challenges.Organizational skills : Self-motivated with strong time management skills to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt to new technologies and processes.Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and listen. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Employee must be able to sit for prolonged period of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach above shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
