Job Description :
The Registered Radiologist Assistant will enhance patient care by extending the capacity of the radiologist in the diagnostic imaging environment. Reporting to the Section Chief of Body, the Radiologist Assistant is able to perform a variety of Diagnostic exams on both in-patients and out- patients.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES :
Provides primary radiology health care under the supervision (direct and / or personal) and oversight of the attending radiologist.
Performs routine fluoroscopy examinations and procedures, including contrast media administration, placement of needle or catheter, and operation of imaging equipment, under the immediate available direction of a radiologist.
Performs specialized imaging procedures under the supervision of a radiologist.
May assist in the performance of non-endovascular imaging and guided diagnostic and
therapeutic procedures including, but not limited to, drainages, biopsies, lumbar puncture and
myelography if needed.
and in providing a broad range of radiology diagnostic and interventional services.
Obtain history and physicals and consents on patients as required.
Assesses and evaluates the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient.
Evaluate images for completeness and diagnostic quality.
Scribes preliminary draft reports on Fluoroscopy and X-Ray exams to be reviewed and finalized
by an attending radiologist.
Participates in policy and procedure updates and review.
Protocols CT and Fluoroscopy examinations
Participate in staff quality improvement initiatives.
Responsible to ensure adequate training and on boarding of new RRAs.
Required to complete RRA schedule and coordinate patient schedule accordingly.
Develop and maintain departmental programs (i.e., Fluoroscopy, MSK).
Act as a liaison between referring services and Radiologist. Aids in communicating findings to
patients and their health care providers.
Other duties as assigned (including any duties an x-ray technologist can perform)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION :
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED :
Maintain a current BLS-CPR and ACLS certification.
Graduate from an ACR / ARRT approved RA program.
Registered / licensed RRA / RPA and radiologic technologist in the state of Massachusetts
In good standing and active registration with ARRT and / or CBRPA
EXPERIENCE :
Expert clinical judgment to function in an independent role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to collaborate with patients, families,
physicians, staff, and community health workers.
