This RN - Advanced Clinical Educator has demonstrated a commitment to higher education and is responsible for developing staff throughout Baptist Health by providing expertise as an Educator, Consultant, Facilitator, Change Agent, Leader, and Researcher. The Educator supports the development of new and current staff, fosters empowerment and knowledge through evidence-based practice, relationship-based care, SMART principles, and principles of adult learning. The role utilizes the Benner Model to move staff from novice to expert, facilitating the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency, continuing education, and leadership development. The Educator will serve as a role model of professional behavior. Additional duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement staff education and development initiatives across Baptist Health facilities.
  • Provide expertise as an Educator, Consultant, Facilitator, Change Agent, Leader, and Researcher.
  • Support the development of new and current staff using evidence-based practice, relationship-based care, SMART principles, and adult learning theory.
  • Apply the Benner Model to guide staff progression from novice to expert.
  • Facilitate the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency, continuing education, and leadership development.
  • Model professional behavior and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Perform additional duties within the scope of the role as assigned.

Education / Experience

  • MSN required with demonstrated experience in teaching / education of at least 2 years in a clinical or academic setting.
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience in the area served (Critical Care, Med / Surg, Women's Services, Pediatrics, or ED).

    • License / Certification

  • Active RN license required.
  • BLS required.
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, service line specific, etc.) may be required depending on area assigned.

    • This role serves as a Clinical Educator for ICU RNs at Baptist Medical Center East and Prattville Baptist Hospital facilities.
