Surgery - General Physician at ProTouch Staffing summary :

ProTouch Staffing is seeking a Board Certified General Surgeon for locum coverage in Southwestern Colorado, offering competitive compensation and support for travel expenses. The role requires handling 24-hour call coverage at a Level 3 trauma center, focusing on inpatients and surgical cases. Applicants must possess an active Colorado license and relevant certifications, with flexibility for various shifts through December.

My name is Jason Long with ProTouch Staffing. We have a Client in Southwestern Colorado in need of a Locum General Surgeon (BC gen Surg.) for the remainder of the year, with possible extension.

This client offers competitive compensation for the right Provider. Malpractice with tail & all travel expenses included.

Aug 2 (6a) - 12 (6a)
Sept 13 (6a) - 17 (6a)
Oct 4 (6a) - 7 (6a)
Oct 18 (6a) - 21 (6a)
Nov 1 (6a) - 4 (6a)
Nov 22 (6a) - 25 (6a)
Dec 20 (6a) - 23 (6a)
Dec 27 (6a) - 29 (6a)

Details :

Assignment : All Gen Surg coverage needs are 24-hr call only (6a-6a)- no clinic - will cover any inpatients that have not been discharged.

1 weekend (4 days) or every 5 weeks (depends on the schedule)

Average worked Callback Hours : 2h

Setting : Level 3 trauma center, SW Colorado

FTE : .6

Duties : Cover ER, inpatients and any practice issues that need to be addressed on the days s / he is on service - go to the OR for trauma / gen surg cases as indicated.

Required Procedures : Basic call and trauma cases

EMR : Epic

Patients per Day : varies

Support Staff : Nurses, OR staff as needed

Worksite Resources : "Typical" - not sure what you are really looking for

Reason for Coverage : Need to backfill for locum who needs to take 6 month break.

Requirements :

Board Certified General Surgery - Required or Truly BE (0-5 years residency completion)

Active CO license - or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission)

Residency Requirements / Fellowship in General Surgery

Active ATLS, BLS

Candidate must be available for any of the shifts detailed in the job description

Candidates must detail all of the shifts / stints they are able to offer to the team through December

Active DEA - Required for credentialing (site will consider a transferred DEA, however, must keep this DEA for the duration of the assignment, not just for shifts worked.)

Clean Malpractice / Background required.
