American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring flexibility with shift scheduling and strong mental health skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care emergency department settingTrauma level 3 ER with a separate triage and dedicated psych hold roomsPatient population includes cardiac, COPD, DKA, trauma, stroke, mental health, ETOH, and overdose cases12-hour shifts with rotation through days, mids, and nights as needed; schedule may change during contractWeekend shifts required every other weekendAdvanced monitoring with Spacelabs monitors and 24 / 7 monitor tech supportEMR is Epic; Pyxis medication system is also usedER equipped with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow O2; RT handles ABGs and breathing treatmentsIn-house security and dedicated support staff providedNo call or floating requiredDedicated charge nurse, house supervisor, ED techs, and patient sitters availableAt least 2 days of unit-specific orientation provided before starting rotationsER has two psych hold rooms and an overflow psych area separate from the main departmentScrub color is flexible; any scrubs acceptedHoliday shifts required with at least one major holiday off during assignmentNo new travelers; prior travel experience requiredHousing in the area may be challenging, so plan accordingly\n \n Requirements\n
Active Oregon RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent emergency department RN experience requiredCompletion of at least one previous travel RN assignment requiredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, and TNCCExperience with mental health, ETOH, and overdose patients requiredMust be able to read monitoring stripsMust be willing to work any assigned shift during the contract\n Benefits\n
