Plant Manager
Our client, a leading manufacturer of disposable food packaging products, is seeking a Plant Manager to join their team in Conyers, GA. Summary Directs plant operations within a facility up to 600 employees and a focus on meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement new and improved operations and processes, all with a committed focus on safety, quality, service and cost
- Direct practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet quality standards, and serve the needs of our customers.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Direct plant leadership team to assess progress, analyze problems, facilitate solutions, identify resources and adjust plans as needed
- Ensure that objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements
- Identify, recommend, and implement short- and long-term business strategies
- Responsible for the organization's planning and budgeting
- Monitor KPIs anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of targets
- Facilitate regular improvement planning sessions to identify key strategic opportunities to achieve manufacturing strategic goals and develop related action plans with measurable outcomes
- Support and reinforce the effective application of the Daily Management System to validate that actions lead to desired performance improvements
- Lead by example to promote and encourage employees to strongly commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Understand, support and follow management expectations in alignment with company values

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field with seven (7) years of manufacturing operations management or leadership assignments demonstrating a progression of increased scope and responsibilityFive (5) years of experience managing employees with supervisory responsibilitiesKnowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidanceDisplays strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachableExcellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teamsAbility to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas, approaches and solutionsAbility to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsExperience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPointDemonstrated project management experiencePrior Plant Manager experience, preferredExperience managing multi-shift or continuous operations, preferredPaper converting, chemical or plastics processing, or packaging industrial experience, preferredLean manufacturing experience, preferredPhysical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements :
