Our client, a leading provider of metal fabricated products and components, is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Financial Controller to join their growing team. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in the financial health of the company by providing accurate and timely financial information, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
o Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
o Conduct variance analysis and prepare insightful reports for management.
o Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance.
o Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
o Oversee the audit processes.
• Accounting Operations:
o Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and collections.
o Supervise the accounts receivable aging process and implement strategies to improve cash flow.
o Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
o Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (GAAP).
• Tax Compliance:
o Prepare and file all federal, state, and local tax returns.
o Advise management on tax planning and strategies.
• Financial Systems & Controls:
o Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
o Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems and processes.
• Team Leadership:
o Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proven experience in financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or other ERP systems is required.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
Salary : Dependent on experience - starting $80k for less experienced candidates up to $150k
