As a newly established business division of AXA XL, our Middle Market business focuses on the expansion of AXA XL's current offerings to mid-sized clients in the US Commercial P&C market. We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Underwriter to join an established underwriting team in a rapidly growing and dynamic division. The individual will be responsible for servicing a renewal book and producing new business through exceptional underwriting practices for the assigned region.

What will your essential responsibilities include? Underwrite a book of business for assigned brokers. Execute your own annual desk-level underwriting plan to achieve rate and retention goals. Adhere to underwriting guidelines, underwriting authorities and referral requirements as needed to Underwriting Manager, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Product Team. Ensuring high quality service standards and compliance with all internal audit guidelines. Working collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants and management team. Cross-sell across Middle Market business unit to maximize deployment of AXA XL's capital. Travel throughout the territory for broker, client, and internal meetings. Acting as a representative of the company and our agents by attending internal / external company functions, agent sponsored and industry events. You will report to the Head of Eastern Zone.

What you'll bring We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills : Basic knowledge of Middle Market underwriting or underwriting support experience. Proven organizational and desk management skills. Collaborative team player who provides creative solutions and ideas for resolution. Basic presentation, written and verbal communication skills. An introductory level of critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills. Flexibility to travel within assigned territory. A bachelor's degree is required.

The U.S. pay range for this position is USD 78,000 123,200. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience, and location.
