American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring NM or compact RN license and TNCC certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital Emergency Department in a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching facilityPatient population includes high acuity, with 60-80% admitted and significant ED holdingTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5Shifts available are 3x12 or 4x12 hours; both 36 and 48 hour weekly optionsWeekend shifts scheduled as needed, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nightsExpected to float to Adult PCUs based on staffing needs; optional float to Pediatric ED; possible float to ED Holding and TraumaUses Cerner charting system; prior Cerner experience not requiredNo on-call requirementsResponsibilities include medication administration including IVs and clinical documentationScrub color is black and is not providedAll staff may work extended admit hold and acute patient cases due to high censusBlock scheduling is not offeredNo local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radiusHoliday coverage may be required, with restrictions on holiday time-off requestsRequesting more than 7 days of RTO requires approval; no time off permitted in the first or last week of assignmentCompliance requirements must be completed prior to start, including drug screens within designated windowFree parking is available on siteCandidates may return as travelers if not employed by the system in the past 12 months\n \n Requirements\n
Active NM or compact RN license, or eligible to obtain; license may pend at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years Emergency Department experience required; candidates with 1.5 years may be reviewedLevel I Trauma experience strongly preferredPrior travel nursing experience preferred, but first-time travelers will be considered with suitable ED backgroundCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, TNCC (must have prior to consideration), NIHSS (may pend), PALSCOVID-19 vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentationRQI certifications are not acceptedValid non-local Driver’s License required, or written transportation plan\n Benefits\n
