Security Department

The Security Department for Vantage Data Centers is very hands on. In most cases, we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all networking and server hardware. We also work closely with partner VARs to learn about the latest technology changes so that we can make informed purchase decisions. We are always looking for ways to strike the best balance between technology, performance, and cost. Vantage Security Department also participates in partnering with our technical and design teams. Position Overview

This role is on-site in Reno, NV. Travel is required (see Job Requirements).

The Security Department for Vantage Data Centers is very hands-on. In most cases, we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all networking and server hardware. This role is on-site in Reno, NV.

Essential Job Functions / Duties

Participate in project management for all security system installations and upgrades.

Collaborate with other groups or departments during system design, implementation, and commissioning of new VDC buildings to ensure projects are completed per VDC standards and all timelines are met.

Monitor and maintain data center's Security systems to ensure that all customers security needs are met and functional with maximum uptime.

Generate reports as needed for VDC Audits and as required by customers.

Prioritize work schedule to minimize impact on customers.

Build, lead, and maintain access levels for all Vantage Data Centers.

Retrieve video footage as requested or required for legal, law enforcement or operational review.

Handle all service requests for site repairs and maintenance.

Lead all security related vendors for installations, ongoing service, and repairs to ensure timeline execution.

Hands-on troubleshooting and repair as needed.

Document all critical evolutions, lessons learned, and find possible efficiency gains in processes

Support, and monitor vendor activities ensuring work activities meet scope of work and follow established procedures

Develop and implement Standard Operations Procedures

Lead the tasks in accordance with client service level agreement.

Respond as needed when system maintenance or complications arise

Other duties may be assigned from time-to-time by the security management

Job Requirements

5 + years of demonstrated ability / experience managing security systems, required

3+ years of demonstrated ability / experience with Access Control Systems (ACS), Video Surveillance System (VSS) required

In-depth, hands-on expertise with all low-voltage security technologies (CCTV, access control, IP networking and structured cabling

Experience designing security systems for new buildings or facilities, to include placement of access control systems, cameras, and call buttons

Project management experience managing large scale projects with multiple deadlines and customers

Working knowledge of the Microsoft Server Environment including SQL Server.

Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office 365

Working knowledge of networking concepts (IP addresses, MAC addresses)

Genetec certification highly desired or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire

Experience with Traka Systems and Idemia

Knowledge of Scripting and Data Analysis (C#, PowerShell, PowerBI, Smartsheets) is strongly preferred but no required

Data Center experience is strongly preferred, but not required

Able to plan, coordinate, and prioritize feature work to meet business commitments

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) effectively communicate internally with team members as well as externally with vendors and other service providers.

Travel is expected to be less than 25%, but may be higher during construction projects

Additional Details

Salary Range : $120,000 - $130,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
