OVERVIEW

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to join its construction team in Chesapeake, VA. This position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for HVAC construction projects, ensuring competitive bids, and supporting project managers and leadership in securing new work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, cost analysis skills, and 5+ years of experience in HVAC or mechanical estimating.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for HVAC construction projects.

Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bids.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather relevant pricing information.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering options.

Assist with bid proposals, budgets, and change order pricing.

Maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships to secure competitive pricing.

Track historical cost data for future project estimating.

WHAT IT TAKES

5+ years of HVAC estimating or related construction estimating experience.

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical construction, and industry standards.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
