Our momentum is strong — and we're adding a Senior Civil Estimator to keep it moving forward.

The Role

We're seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Estimator to lead complex pursuits, set estimating strategy, and elevate hit rate and margin accuracy. This role owns estimate buildout (means / methods, production, contingencies), drives subcontractor / vendor coverage, presents to leadership / clients, and mentors junior estimators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead review of plans / specs and civil drawings; perform / oversee detailed takeoffs for mass earthwork, utilities, grading, and site packages.
  • Develop estimate strategy including phasing, means / methods, production analysis, haul plans, and risk contingencies.
  • Drive subcontractor and supplier outreach; level scopes, negotiate pricing, and ensure complete coverage.
  • Prepare executive-ready proposals with clear clarifications, VE options, and alternates; present to clients and leadership.
  • Standardize assemblies, assumptions, and historical cost databases; implement QA / QC on all outgoing bids.
  • Coordinate thorough precon turnover (budget, scope book, bid clarifications) with PM / Ops and support early buyout.

What We're Looking For

  • 5–10+ years of civil / sitework estimating with wins on complex, multi-phase, or high-visibility projects.
  • Expert-level knowledge of earthwork modeling, cut / fill balancing, shrink / swell, haul analysis, utilities sequencing, and equipment production rates.
  • Mastery of estimating / takeoff software and advanced Excel (AGTEK / HCSS / Bluebeam strongly preferred).
  • Strong client presence, negotiation skills, and trusted relationships with local vendors / subs.
  • Proven ability to improve hit rate, protect margin, and control scope risk.
  • Leadership mindset—mentors others, sets standards, and meets deadlines under pressure.
