Job descriptionTechnically proficiency with Solidworks 3D CAD Strong working knowledge of mechanical principles, understanding of 3D models, layout drawings and engineering specifications Self-directed and able to act as mechanical technical lead for assigned projects Must be able to communicate with internal and external customers from a broad spectrum of disciplines Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies Must possess planning and organizational skills Must possess exceptional attention to detail in all attributes of a project Must be able to take direction and effectively complete tasks in a high-pressure environment 2-year degree in design, mechanical technology, drafting, manufacturing, or a related field (preferred) with 5+ years of related experience (3D solid modeling experience and proficiency in Solidworks). JOB DESCRIPTION
Mechanical Designer (SolidWorks)
Responsibilities
- Complete 3D designs and assemblies for complex robotic and automated systems, machine design
- Properly size and select automation components including pneumatics, sensors, and motorized systems
- Review 3D models for safety concerns, accuracy, and completion
- Work concurrently on one or more projects of moderately complex scope
- Create 2D detail prints, field sketches and layouts as assigned
- Collaborate as a productive member on large projects, and support Sales in development of new system concepts
- Schedule activities to complete assigned tasks and projects, communicate and document requisite information per established policies and procedures
- Understand customer needs, apply technical knowledge to identify process requirements, recommend and implement custom engineered solutions
- Demonstrate Engineering professionalism in all activities and provide efficient service to customers
