Rape Crisis Victim Advocate – Youngstown, OH
Salary $ : $17.00 per hour; Full Time (40 hours per week); includes comprehensive and generous benefits and leave package.
Shift : Dayshift, M-F primarily, but may change based on programmatic and staffing needs
Responsibilities :
- Work with sexual assault survivors and their families including facilitation of support groups, crisis counseling, collateral contacts with courts, attorneys, agencies, and family / significant other involvement.
- Conduct PREA activities as directed for partner correctional facilities.
- Coordinate services to GRACE Court, Harriet Tubman Project, and the Human Trafficking Task Force.
- Complete required progress notes / reports. Maintain records of all activities.
- Provide crisis counseling and support group services to interpersonal violence survivors.
- Provide on-call service to RCCC, Human Trafficking Task Force, and regional correctional institutions (PREA), and Youngstown Police Department.
- Community Outreach and Education : Assist in providing educational presentations to community organizations, schools etc. and staff resource fairs and other outreach events as assigned
- Attend RCCC and Sojourner program staff meetings, in service trainings and supervisory meetings as scheduled. Participate in community-based task forces, committees, and multi-disciplinary teams as needed and / or assigned. Attend Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence meetings as assigned on behalf of Rape Crisis. Coordinate services with community stakeholders.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in social work or a human service field is preferred. LSW or Victim Advocacy credentials are beneficial.Must possess a minimum of five years’ experience in human services, preferably domestic / sexual violence / human trafficking field.Ability to navigate and use Behavioral Health Electronic Health Record System and victim services software packages. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Google business products.Benefits :

Will need to complete 40 hours of training in core standards of care for sexual assault survivors to included thirty hours of continuing education training every two years.
Interpersonal / Human Relations Skills : Ability to relate to victims of sexual violence. Ability to handle pressure of case situations involving threats or sexual assaults against victims. Non-judgmental, strong oral and written communication skills . High level of attention to detail and independent judgement and decision making.
Non-Exempt : Eligible for overtime
