Job Summary
The Controller oversees the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Job Functions
- Oversees all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and job costing.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensures accuracy of financial records across all sister companies, consolidating results where needed.
- Monitors and reports on cash flow, working capital, and financial performance to CFO.
- Provides financial modeling and projections for new projects, contracts, and capital expenditures.
- Helps to establish, monitor, and enforce strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements (Louisiana and Texas focus).
- Coordinates with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks to ensure timely filings and reviews.
- Advises leadership on cost management, pricing strategies, and margin improvement opportunities.
- Supports operations with job costing, inventory management oversight, and profitability analysis.
- Assists in providing financial insights for decisions involving hiring, retention programs, and incentive structures.
- Leads and develops the accounting / finance team, fostering accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.
- Helps to oversee ERP / accounting systems (e.g., P21, iSolved integration) and recommends process improvements.
- Trains staff on financial procedures and ensures cross-company consistency.
- Assists the CFO on financial strategies for growth and stability.
- Reviews all administration / accounting functions, systems, processes, and tools for efficiency; enhances and invokes changes as necessary
- Serves as the final point of escalation for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable issues
Requirements / Experience

The Controller is located at the Executive branch in Broussard, LA, and reports to the CFO. Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional OT and after-hours work as needed. Physical demands are minimal, and typically require the following : 90% sitting, 5% walking and 5% standing. Light lifting of supplies and some fine finger dexterity may be required

Training
Controller training is to be carried out at the Executive Office location in Broussard, LA. The CFO is responsible for the Controller training. When possible, the training will be conducted by the incumbent Controller. When / if the incumbent is not available or no longer with the company, Controller training will be carried out by the CFO.
