Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are actively seeking an experienced Lead Day Program Direct Support Professional in Albuquerque, NM. The Lead Day Program Direct Support Professional is responsible for developing and implementing all day habilitation activities, assisting consumers in scheduled and regular community activities, and / or volunteer, educational or programs.
Starting Pay : $18.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Meet with Executive Director regularly to maintain open communication and discuss program needs
- Assist with obtaining and processing referrals
- Meet with consumers, family members, case managers, guardians, residential staff, and other interested parties to determine appropriate activities and goals
- Develop daily / weekly / monthly schedule for consumers to maximize their time in the program and in the community
- Ensure compliance with all Medicaid documentation
- Maintain petty cash in compliance with company policy and procedures as well as state regulation
- Coordinate quarterly inspections of fire safety systems
- Coordinate and conduct weekly staff meetings
- Ensure individual binders are up to date, purged and filed per company guidelines and state regulations
- Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related fieldOne year of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in residential, day habilitation, and / or employment servicesExperience gathering information from a variety of sources, analyzing information, preparing reports, and making presentationsAbility to utilize creativity and ingenuity in assisting individualsDisplay understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilitiesFlexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels, both internally and externally, exercise good judgment, and use common senseAbility to train staff and individualsAbility to lift 50 pounds (weight of average manual wheelchair when chair is empty)Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testingWorking Conditions
