Investigative Division Computer Services Unit
This position will be assigned to the Investigative Division Computer Services Unit located in Decatur, Georgia. This is a sensitive government position.
Employment for the selected candidate(s) is contingent upon the successful completion of a GBI background investigation including criminal, credit and driver's history checks, polygraph examination, fingerprinting and drug screening.
Under general supervision in a non-sworn position, the incumbent will perform administrative and investigative support duties for the Investigative Division Computer Services Unit in Decatur, Georgia. Administrative duties include maintaining all administrative office files, serving as records management coordinator for the work unit, asset inventory, leave grid / timekeeping and generating various types of agent and activity reports. The incumbent will open and close the office at the designated established times. In addition, the incumbent will perform a variety of purchasing functions that include ordering supplies, invoice preparation, and processing payments utilizing the Agency's financial system.
Investigative support duties include initiating inquiries on computerized criminal history record information and providing written intelligence data from these inquiries.
Essential job functions include : opening and closing the office daily during normal business hours; administering day-to-day office operations; processing invoices and payments for office staff; performing typing and dictation for office staff; maintaining leave grid / timekeeping for staff; utilizing the case management system; responsible for assisting with asset inventory management in accordance with policy; managing the office purchasing card, including purchasing supplies, maintaining accurate records of transactions, receipts and adhering to purchasing card policies and procedures.
Core competencies include : good time management skills; ability to perform office coordinator functions and customer service-related tasks; strong verbal and written communication skills; essential knowledge of operating office equipment to include but not limited to computers, copier, fax machines, scanners, answering telephone, and filing; established experience in using Microsoft Office Suite software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Physical requirements include : occasionally standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling; occasionally light lifting / or moving boxes or supplies may be required.
Work environment includes : shared office space with other administrative professionals. This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia drivers license is required.
Minimum qualifications include : an associate's degree from an accredited college AND one year of related experience. OR three years of related experience.
