Our client, a public sector organization dedicated to affordable housing and community development, is seeking a FINANCIAL ANALYST to join their team. As a FINANCIAL ANALYST, you will be part of the Finance Department supporting housing and capital improvement programs. The ideal candidate will have analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title : FINANCIAL ANALYST
Location : Oakland, CA
Pay Range : $64.91 per hour
Shift :
Day shift 8am to 5 pm
8 hours per day, with every other Friday off.
What's the Job?
Lead and coordinate the budget development process for assigned departments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare, review, monitor, and analyze departmental budgets and expenditures to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and communicate findings clearly both verbally and in writing to management and stakeholders.
Monitor spending to ensure compliance with budgets, contracts, and Board approvals, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Support fiscal analysis of capital improvements and rehabilitation projects, including preparing financial feasibility projections and budgets.
What's Needed?
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public policy, business administration, economics, or a closely related field.
At least four years of responsible experience in affordable housing finance policy and implementation.
Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, and public finance principles.
Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with financial software such as Yardi and Tableau is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
