Job description

Tax Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Associate to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to expand your tax experience in a reputable organization. The initial contract is for nine months, with the potential for a full-time position based on performance.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare individual, fiduciary, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
  • Complete 1040 tax returns efficiently and accurately.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and document findings.
  • Perform bookkeeping and accounting services for small businesses.
  • Review client trial balances and propose necessary adjusting journal entries.

Essential Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance in a public or private setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in preparing individual tax returns, specifically Forms 1040.
  • 1 year of experience working in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency in ProSystems software or similar (UltraTax CS, Lacerte, Drake Tax, CCH Axcess Tax).
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables, use vlookups, and develop formulas.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications :

  • CPA or EA designation is a plus but not required.
  • Work Environment :

  • This position is fully remote, operating on Eastern Standard Time.
  • Job Type & Location :

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorestown, New Jersey.

    Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
