Job Description

The Senior Network Architect leads the development and communication of a forward‑looking network architecture and modernization roadmap, ensuring alignment with federal standards and industry best practices. The role collaborates with leadership and technical experts to shape innovative strategies that enhance scalability, security, and resiliency. The Architect advocates for continuous improvement, develops business cases to secure investment, and establishes key performance indicators to measure success.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must possess an active TS clearance at the time of application, be willing and able to obtain SCI access, and pass a CI polygraph.
  • This position is 5 days onsite in Washington, D.C.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant IT experience, including at least five (5) years of experience in network design and architecture.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Cisco and / or TOGAF / CISSP certifications required.
  • Strong experience in federal environments required.
  • Preferred experience with analytics, AI / ML, CSfC, ZTA, SDN, cloud networking, SD‑WAN, and large‑scale hybrid environments.
  • Responsibilities

  • Defines and communicates a forward‑looking network architecture and modernization roadmap that aligns with best practices and federal standards.
  • Engages with executive leadership, team members, and technical experts, both internally and externally, to gather insights, align objectives, and shape innovative network modernization strategies.
  • Designs comprehensive network models that address complex technical challenges across multiple sectors while ensuring scalability, security, and resiliency.
  • Provides architectural design and strategic oversight for the implementation of enterprise‑scale network solutions that support organizational goals.
  • Promotes best practices and drives continuous improvement by incorporating market trends and customer feedback.
  • Develops and promotes cross‑discipline network designs focused on operational efficiency, delivering cost‑effective solutions that maintain high performance and resiliency.
  • Prepares and presents executive‑level business cases that clearly articulate the strategic and financial benefits of network modernization initiatives to secure necessary investments.
  • Ensures all network architectures comply with federal regulations, security standards, and industry best practices.
  • Provides strategic guidance on emerging technologies and innovative network solutions, serving as an advisor to internal teams and external partners on technology investments and modernization efforts.
  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks to measure and evaluate the success of network modernization initiatives.
  • Leads and participates in technical presentations, demonstrations, working groups, and workshops for executives and technical stakeholders to communicate complex network strategies and solutions effectively.
