Retail Operations Job
Hannaford Supermarkets, a local market with roots in fresh produce, seeks to manage retail operations for the assigned department. The role impacts store associates, merchandise quality, and customer service. The primary purpose is to build associate and customer relations, promote a strong culture in support of Hannaford Strategy, and ensure store conditions are maintained at the highest level. The duties include fostering a positive environment, meeting quality standards, managing department operations, ensuring department appearance, hiring and training associates, attaining financial objectives, role modeling customer service, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires a strong understanding of store operations, excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, and good judgment in problem-solving and decision-making. Department Manager or equivalent experience is required, and a college degree or equivalent is preferred. Certification as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" is required or must be achieved within the first 90 days of employment. Physical requirements include the ability to use computers, lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, and push / pull up to 40 lbs. regularly. Preferred requirements include fostering a sales-driven culture, treating associates with fairness and respect, maintaining store appearance, managing performance, using company tools, and ensuring compliance with company standards.
