Responsibilities Work on a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes post-op CABG / valve, thoracotomy, vascular procedures, arrhythmias, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacemaker, defib, ablations, acute chest pain / MI, as well as med / surg overflow cases Typical patient ratio is 1 : 4 with high patient turnover Shift is 12 hours, nights (1900-0730), every other weekend and holiday required Float to all inpatient units as needed No on-call or call back requirements Uses Epic EMR; one year recent Epic experience required Scrub color is any color Responsibilities include managing a fast-paced, high-turnover cardiac stepdown unit and delivering care to a diverse cardiac and overflow patient population Candidates must be resilient, adaptable, and able to complete tasks independently Every other holiday coverage is required Low census may result in unbillable hours with call-back pay if called in First week orientation hours are not guaranteed Candidates need to have strong social and communication skills Requirements Active WI or compact RN license required BLS and ACLS certifications required Must have at least 1 year of strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU / Intermediate Cardiac / Cardiac ICU) 2 years IMC / PCU / Telemetry experience required Must have completed at least one travel assignment Experience working with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips is required Must be able to pass an EKG test during the first week of hire One year recent Epic charting experience required Applicants must reside outside a 50-mile radius during the assignment Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628583.
