Data Center Operations Technician - Non Exempt

This position will help support weekend work and helps alleviate pressure on the weekend rotating staff as we support every weekend all year round. New hire will also need to support the Data Center Operations desk which takes in all calls from external customers and internal customers. Position will work with all of client's vendors on RMA orders and planning.

Main role :

Job Summary : A Shipping and Receiving Technician is responsible for managing the flow of goods into and out of the Datacenter, ensuring accurate tracking and inventory management, and maintaining clear communication with various departments and customers.

Key Responsibilities :

• Receiving incoming shipments and verifying the accuracy of all items against invoices.
• Updating the inventory management system with new stock and ensuring precise records are maintained.
• Organizing and managing storage areas.
• Dispatching out shipments, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Liaising with suppliers and customers to resolve delivery issues.
• Conducting periodic inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.

Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.

Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations.

Position responsibilities :

1. Under direct supervision, supports network operations engineers in the management of a public and / or private network such as Internet protocol (IP) networks, wide area networks (WANs), and public switched telephone networks.

2. Under direct supervision, Installs, monitors, maintains, upgrades and supports network communications systems to provide maximum performance and availability following established policies and procedures.

3. Under direct supervision, collects and monitors network traffic data to support capacity planning, routing, switching and load balancing, and supports the day-to-day provisioning and maintenance of network services.

Education required : Associate degree or Certificate in Computer Science, MIS or other related discipline, or equivalent work experience in Data Center, Network or Computer Operations.

6 month contract - Onsite in Carteret

Hours are 2pm -10pm

$24-26 / hr based on experience
