Our Chicago office is seeking a Structural Designer / Drafter with experience in CAD drafting for highway or rail bridge projects. The Chicago structural group is known for tackling the most challenging and fast-paced bridge projects in the industry. As a Structural Designer / Drafter at Parsons, you'll play a key role in turning ideas and sketches into detailed CAD plan sheets, ensuring precision and quality in every project.

Responsibilities :

• Use CAD software to prepare detailed engineering drawings, including bridge plans, elevations, sections, and details, based on preliminary sketches or general engineering information, following established standards and procedures.
• Collaborate closely with other Designer / Drafters and Engineers to ensure coordinated and accurate designs.
• Apply standard drafting and design principles to complete assignments efficiently and effectively.
• Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
• Make necessary changes, additions, and revisions to drawings, following a structured quality control process that includes checking, backchecking, correcting, and verifying.
• Manage the assembly and delivery of completed drawing sets within the bridge discipline.
