REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to occasionally stand and / or walk for extended periods of time
Ability to occasionally lift heavy objects no more than 50 pounds
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to learn the delivery areas to coordinate driver’s deliveries
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to read maps effectively and work with map software
Ability to provide superior customer service
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
Familiarity with geographical service area
Experience using computerized logistics / routing software.
Knowledge of distribution and transportation industry
Capable of working without supervision
Flexibility to handle situations as they occur, still maintain adherence to company policies.
Knowledge of MS Office
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serve as a positive representation of Heritage Cooperative’s Core Values
Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety of oneself, coworkers and customers
Receive customer orders from Customer Service Representative, dispatches to driver based on district territory according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using email or telephones
Maintain an accurate daily attendance roster of drivers and assistants.
Receive and enters order from sales representatives or drivers into the dispatch system.
Communicate driving directions to customer homes based on knowledge of reading maps and map software
Advise drivers about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
Improve efficiencies by adhering to and improving upon established routes and districts
Determine where to instruct drivers to pull fuel by comparing daily inventory costs vs terminal pricing
Assist District Managers in making sure drivers follow all DOT regulations and hours of service rules
Develop an understanding of customers’ needs and takes necessary action to ensure their needs are being met in a timely and satisfactory manner
Report customer feedback and all customer complaints, including any sign of customer dissatisfaction, to appropriate management and / or consumer relations
Communicate to appropriate district manager matter concerning driver performance, delivery inefficiencies and customer concerns
Conduct monthly inventory process and ensures timely and accurate reporting of daily and end of month inventory for the assigned area and terminal
Maintain ability to perform efficiently and follow through on all details, in a fast-paced, customer focused environment
Provide leadership support to assigned district during absence of a district manager
Understand and practice company safety policies and also federal, state and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
