Job Summary :

The Travel Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse provides compassionate and skilled care to women before, during, and after childbirth. The L&D RN is responsible for monitoring mothers and newborns, assisting physicians during labor and delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide comprehensive care to patients during all stages of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery.

Monitor and document maternal and fetal vital signs, contractions, and progress of labor.

Administer medications, including IVs, epidurals, and pain management as prescribed.

Assist physicians, certified nurse midwives, and anesthesiologists during labor and surgical deliveries (e.g., C-sections).

Support and educate mothers and families on childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care.

Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Follow hospital protocols for infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality.

Requirements :

Experience : Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience (within the past 12 months preferred).

Licensure : Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of assignment (or compact license).

Certifications :

BLS – Basic Life Support (Required)

ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required)

NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required)

Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Required / Preferred per facility)
