ICU Nurse Job Details Location : Columbia, South Carolina 29204 Unit : Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) – Acute Care Hospital (includes MICU / SICU overflow) Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : December 8, 2025 – End : March 9, 2026) Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1570–$1680 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (12 weekend shifts per contract) Patient Ratios : 1 : 1–2 Guaranteed Hours : Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks Parking : Free parking pass for downtown lots and garages ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent ICU Registered Nurse experience (first-time travel nurses welcome) Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State / Compact nursing license (pending license considered with proof of application) Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Epic charting system experience preferred Preferred equipment experience : CRRT (Prismax), Flotrac, Impella, IABP Ability to float to MICU or other critical care units as needed Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) Critical Care Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality critical care nursing to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac diagnoses (CHF, STEMI) and MICU / SICU overflow Operate advanced clinical equipment : CRRT, Flotrac, Impella, IABP, ventilators Assist with procedures : arterial line management, chest tube insertion / removal, central line care, wound management Administer emergency medications, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and manage multisystem organ dysfunction / failure Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and monitor patients using GE Patient Monitoring System Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams : IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response Float to similar critical care units as needed to support hospital census Discover Columbia’s renowned southern hospitality, thriving arts scene, and outdoor adventures while making a difference in cardiac critical care.
