GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Food Outreach Coordinator is responsible for outreach to the Strafford County community to promote access and awareness of food equity. This position is responsible for the operation of the CAPSC Food Pantries, distribution of food packages to eligible clients, managing food donors, and managing food outreach volunteers. The person in this position will need to be able to cultivate greater connectivity and alignment across the Strafford County food systems network.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum High School diploma or GED. Associate's degree preferred within human services, public health, or another applicable field.
- At least 2 years of prior experience in a human / social service, food services, or community outreach position.
- Shares a passion for building a more resilient, sustainable food system in New Hampshire and the Strafford County region.
- Proficient computer literacy including EXCEL, WORD, and Outlook.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the volunteer coordinator for all Food Outreach opportunitiesMaintain food pantries' organization and record-keeping requirementsDistribution of USDA commodity foods and donated food pantry items, including record- keeping requirements.Prepare reports for Director of Community ServicesWork with the Community Services team to expand programming.Oversee special projects including Thanksgiving and Holiday Food BasketsBe the community liaison with NH food Bank and TEFAP. And follow their policy and procedures. And all the digital platforms.Any other duty or project assigned by supervisor or for the benefit of the program.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
