Assistant Professor Assistant Professor of Media Production Academic Affairs, Division of Communication and Media Studies FT Faculty A5 $63,475 + depending on experience (DOE) Full-Time NoThe Communication and Media Studies Department at SUNY Cortland invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Media Production. This position will teach and assess learning in the practice of media production, with a primary emphasis on digital media production.
This is a generalist position designed to attract candidates with diverse professional and creative backgrounds across media production. Applicants are encouraged to identify their primary area(s) of expertise within their application materials. Areas of interest may include, but are not limited to:
The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate instruction, curricular development, student mentoring, creative and/or scholarly activity, and service to the department, university, and community, and interest in innovative, interdisciplinary, or evolving media practices.
Salary Range: $63,475 + depending on experience (DOE)

SUNY Cortland’s Communication and Media Studies Department is a nationally recognized, high-value program committed to inclusive education and experiential learning. The department provides students with hands-on opportunities through internships, study abroad, and student-run media organizations, including campus radio, television, and newspaper outlets.
In 2026, the department will move into a newly renovated facility with expanded production, studio, and post-production spaces.
