Job Purpose
Production Shift Manager is ultimately responsible for the Production Supervisors’ commitment to the safety and health of their employees.
Manage Collagen Casing & Biomedical Dough products and ensure all departments' costs, yields, safety, environmental, people development, budgets and quality to consistently provide products meeting customer requirements at the lowest cost.

Freedom to Act
Decision making to impact the production of the shift being supervised and assist others in controlling and making decisions. Oversee that Proper training is being implemented by direct supervisors & training paperwork is being completed.
Complexity
Strong judgement, attention to detail is required to make sound decisions which impact departmental operations. Departments include Matpro, Continuous Lines, Warehouse, QA / PS Lab, Gels, & Maintenance.
Impact on Business Results
Impacts the production and quality within the final product. Owns a daily operation report that details all activities for all departments. Matpro, Continuous Lines, Warehouse, QA / PS Lab, Gels, & Maintenance.
Involvement in Business Planning / Budget
Has input and shared responsibility and budget decisions. Insures proper and accurate reports are submitted to Finance on request.
Communication
Must have the ability to communicate and influence others within the operating department and other contributors and impacted outside of the department. Complete SAP Work notifications when maintenance attention is required for repairs, PMs, or minor modifications. Point of contact between production and Quality to make sure proper testing and adjustments are taking place.
Physical requirements
Must be able to maintain constant movement throughout the department and plant area to oversee the production operations.
