Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. We are dedicated to serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and providing comprehensive emergency and long-term services to help them escape the dangerous streets of Skid Row. POSITION SUMMARY :

Under the supervision of the Thrift Store Manager, the Thrift Store Production Worker is responsible for assisting the production crew in cleaning, prep, and tagging merchandise such as clothing, books, electronics, shoes, accessories, household items, etc.

THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Cleans, tags, and packs merchandise for pricing.
• Determines which items are perishable and which are recyclable and discards unsellable items.
• Assists other departments / positions, as needed.
• Sets the pace for sorting.
• Records production numbers daily. (i.e., carts, units, etc.)
• Communicates regularly with management about store issues.
• Actively engages customers on floor sales to increase donations and merchandise sales.
• Ensures monthly revenue goals are met.
• Provides excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers and donors; and responds to customer inquiries / complaints in a timely manner.
• Ensures store and displays are maintained, clean, and attractive.
• Maintains safety including all Health and Security policies and procedures.
• Conducts tasks and other projects as assigned by the Thrift Store Manager / Supervisor.
• Commitment to URM mission, vision, and core values.
• Encourages guests in their faith and growth in Jesus Christ.
