Project Scheduler
DPR is currently looking for a Project Scheduler who can make an impact on our Planning Scheduling & Production Planning (PSPP) Team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Planning & Scheduling will be commercial projects within our core markets : Healthcare, Advanced Technology, Life Sciences, Higher Education and Corporate Office.
PSPP Resources (Project Scheduler) will work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators, Self Perform Work teams and Regional Leadership teams and will be responsible for the following :
SCHEDULING & PLANNING SKILLS
Expert in CPM scheduling theory, level of detail, and execution
- Creating new schedules
- Updating schedules
- Troubleshooting
- Resource loading and / or crew logic, Cost loading, Variance reports, etc
Strong understanding of :
Pre-construction planning, design development, bid / buy-out, long lead procurement items, construction sequences, startup, testing & commissioningFacilitate collaborative planning sessions with DPR project team, subcontractors, designers, and stakeholders to get input for sequencing and durations, as it relates to overall project milestonesDevelop contract (baseline) schedule and maintain monthly contract schedule updates, in close coordination with superintendents and project teamLead planning and scheduling effortsCreatively collaborate with your project team, especially superintendents, to produce accurate schedule updatesCoordinate with and include subcontractor schedulesCreate variance reports, graphics, and narratives to address potential issues or conflictsAbility to analyze acceleration options (multiple shifts, Weekday OT, Weekend OT) to recommend the best cost option and offset against risks with different approachesAbility to train other team members in planning & scheduling best practicesCOMMUNICATION SKILLS
Communication of schedule via tools such as schedule narratives, key milestones, and high-level summariesAbility to draft quality schedule narratives, respond to schedule comments, and succinctly write executive summariesFacilitate weekly schedule meetings with the owner and DPR project teams. Prepare schedule handouts & record action itemsProduce look ahead schedules (e.g., 6 weeks) for weekly OAC meetingsEffectively communicate schedule issues, risks, conflicts, and mitigation / recovery plans to the ownerCreate visual references / diagrams / graphics using P6 schedule data to further describe the project plan, current status, and upcoming scopes of workAbility to motivate and build trust amongst project teams during planning sessionsRISK MANAGEMENT SKILLS
Provide risk management input on key schedule milestonesAlert entire project team to potential problem areas or deviations from the planAssist in development of recovery plans, mitigation options, or delay analysisGENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must also possess the following :
3+ years of experience as a Scheduler, preferably within DPR's Core Market projectsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent field experienceA strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitudeEffective problem-solving skillsA flexible, detailed-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, work with diverse personalities & work styles, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlinesSoftware skills necessary include Acumen Fuse and ACC BuildAnticipated starting pay range : $126,000.00- $160,000.00
