AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE MANAGER

About the Position :
The service manager position is a primarily operational focused position with attention to sales and employee development. The service manager is responsible for working to maintain a profitable service department, maintaining an efficient shop, providing reports on the business, ensuring warranty process is correct and followed, as well as assisting in the sale of service work and in the development of service advisors. The service manager will assist in creating a positive service culture focused on strong performance, retention and exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities :
Work to assist in training advisors on a daily basis
Work to assist in selling service through follow-up calls, TOs and customer interactions on a daily basis.
Enforce, maintain and develop processes that promote additional sales and retention.
Work with technicians to create positive interactions between the advisors and techs.
Work with technicians to make sure work is efficiently moving through the shop.
Manager service BDC activities to ensure proper appointment processes and high activity on campaign lists.
Manage departmental expenses
Assists in hiring for open positions
Monitors service department performance on a daily basis to make sure objectives are being met and profitability is being obtained.
Assist in keeping a clean open RO schedule
Assist in the GM warranty process and procedures to ensure compliance and capturing all dollars owed to the dealership.
Minimum Qualifications :
Prior domestic dealership service manager experience required
Successful track record
Team oriented attitude
Possesses excellent organizational skills
Possesses strong communication skills
Desire to learn and develop
Not afraid of change or thinking outside the box.
