Job Description
Job Summary
Is accountable for the delivery of high-quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the nursing unit on a 24-hour basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Work Environment
May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and emergency situations. Requires handling unpredictable situations, emergency care, and occasional irregular hours.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May supervise 5 to 100 staff members.
Financial Responsibilities
Prepare and monitor departmental budgets.
Essential Functions
Includes establishing unit goals, liaising with medical staff, maintaining communication, developing organizational structure, supervising staff, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising nursing interventions, and other duties.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Must be mobile, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and capable of visual and cognitive tasks necessary for patient care and management.

Position interacts with all age groups, providing direct patient care and demonstrating necessary skills and knowledge.
