Position : Seasonal Wood Worker

Location : Lafayette, LA (On-site)

Department : Wood Production

Overview

A Seasonal Wood Worker is responsible for creating wood products including cutting boards, picture frames, wooden boxes, and other custom wood items using woodworking equipment and tools. Training schedules may begin with reduced hours until production volume increases, with shifts adjusting as operations scale.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cutting boards to length and sanding
  • Staining wood products to achieve desired finishes
  • Framing wood planks for use in various projects
  • Making and assembling wooden boxes for product packaging and shipping
  • Operating miter saws, drum sanders, planers, routers, slide saws, and other woodworking equipment
  • Producing quality wood products with minimal waste
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workstation
  • Follow all safety protocols and use PPE when operating woodworking equipment
  • Work as part of a collaborative production team—while your primary role is woodworking, all employees may assist in other departments as seasonal demand requires.

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately

    • Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with woodworking tools and equipment preferred
  • Experience in a production and / or warehouse environment preferred

    • Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending or stooping
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time

    • Seasonal Schedules

  • Employment runs early–mid October through mid-December (exact dates depend on production volume).
  • Training schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 am – 4 : 00 pm

    • Training schedules may begin with reduced hours until the season fully ramps up.

  • Our production schedule is scaled with holiday demand. Your preference for day and night shifts is used when assigning shifts as the season progresses.

    16 / 5 (Mon–Fri)

    Shift A : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM

  • Shift B : 4 : 00 PM – 12 : 00 AM
  • 24 / 5 (Mon–Fri)

    • Shift A : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM

  • Shift B : 4 : 00 PM – 12 : 00 AM
  • Shift C : 12 : 00 AM – 8 : 00 AM
