Role Description :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing Finance team. This role will be instrumental in closing the books each month, as well as contributing to implementation of financial operations best practices. The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring company-wide financial compliance.

Responsibilities :

1. Lead the monthly financial close process, prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and accruals ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

2. Own the general ledger and trial balance integrity. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the GL.

3. Maintain an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk.

4. Prepare, review and provide variance analyses for monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports.

5. Prepare for external audits and tax filings; compile schedules and workpapers for auditors and external tax advisors.

6. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial and legal requirements.

7. Collaborate with the team to develop financial goals, budgets, and other analyses.

8. Manage end-to-end payroll processing for exempt and nonexempt employees (ADP)

Qualifications : Must-Haves

1. Minimum of 5 years or more of previous Accounting experience in a manufacturing business / inventory accounting, plus Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field.

2. Proven month-end close experience, ownership of journal entries, accruals and GL maintenance.

3. Strong knowledge of US GAAP.

4. Experience and Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and MS Office (Excel).

Nice to Haves

5. Master’s Degree CPA License (active or in progress).

6. Audit Prep or Prior Audit Experience.

7. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

8. Analytical mindset with strategic abilities.
