Job description

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world’s most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self‑Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World’s Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride‑hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider‑only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

The Strategy & BizOps team drives and executes against the company’s go‑to‑market strategy. We leverage quantitative and qualitative analysis to create long‑term business strategies and help execute on Waymo’s commercial deployment. The team is analytically driven, with a proactive mentality, focused on finding and delivering on high impact projects.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Senior Director of Strategy & BizOps and Product Data Science.

You will :

Drive go‑to‑market / commercial strategy projects with broad scope and significant company impact.

Conduct rigorous qualitative or quantitative analysis and effectively distill insights (“so what”) from them.

Manage cross‑functional stakeholder relationships, aligning various perspectives and inputs from technical and commercial functions.

Perform advanced business modeling and analysis such as value‑driver and scenario analysis.

Distill insights and recommendations for leadership.

You have :

Structured problem‑solving skills and the ability to tackle ambiguous problems, avoid getting lost in details.

Analytical skillset with experience in financial modeling, data analytics, SQL, and presenting insights to executive audiences (financial analysis / modeling is a must‑have).

Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.

Comfort in a fast‑paced and rapidly evolving “startup” work environment.

Experience with project‑based work, frequent shifts of focus and topics, and rapid learning of new content (typical for consulting or bizops / chief‑of‑staff functions in tech companies).

At least 5 years of experience.

We prefer :

Operational experience in a tech company (chief of staff, bizops / strategy).

Both consulting or finance background (if consulting, with some financial modeling experience) and experience in a tech company, especially with products that have physical components (e.g., transportation, supply chain, proptech).

Experience in relevant industries (e.g., Ride Hailing, Trucking, Delivery).

Experience with commercialization / go‑to‑market strategy (e.g., pricing, partner strategy).

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this full‑time position across US locations is $175,000—$221,000 USD. Actual starting pay will be based on job‑related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
