Maine Correctional Center in Windham, ME, is actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Master Electrician to take on a key leadership role in supervising and managing the electrical maintenance program and construction projects at our modern, state-of-the-art correctional facility. Work is performed under limited supervision.
About Maine Correctional Center :
The new, $147 million, state-of-the-art, Maine Correctional Center opened in June 2023 on its expanded campus in Windham, ME. We are a Medium / Minimum Security facility that houses both male and female adult residents, as well as a Minimum and Community custody facility for women called the Southern Maine Women's Reentry Center. Maine Correctional Center recognizes the indispensable service, commitment and valuable contributions of its outstanding security, program, and support staff, and is dedicated to the ongoing development of a professional and skilled workforce with high ethical standards. Responsibilities include :
REPRESENTATIVE TASKS :
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES : (These are required to successfully perform the assigned work.)
Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; State and National Electrical Code; tools, materials, methods, and practices of the electrical trade; principles and theory of electricity; and occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrical trade.
Ability to supervise subordinate personnel; plan, assign, and evaluate the work of others; interpret and work from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints; keep records and files; estimate materials required for a job; detect and repair defects in a variety of electrical systems and equipment; use and care for tools and equipment used in the electrical trade; and use applicable computer programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : (Entry level knowledge, skills, and / or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework / training and / or experience).
LICENSING / REGISTRATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).
