Engineering Manager
We seek Engineering Managers who are hands-on and have the vital expertise and passion to lead teams in solving complex problems related to distributed systems and cloud-native technologies and developing new services that address customer issues. This role will lead the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Queue service. As an Engineering Manager, you should be a distributed systems generalist who can design extensive system interactions while being very hands-on and able to investigate any part of the stack and lower-level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scalability, feel comfortable working in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. You will be responsible for :
Responsibilities : Own a high scale, distributed cloud scale service. Provide leadership, direction and strategy for a team of senior engineers. Lead and deliver on a large portfolio of key OCI initiatives with a special emphasis on Messaging Platform. Develop a prioritized roadmap of products, features and engineering asks. Drive the delivery of roadmap commitments on time with high quality. Work closely with a variety of stakeholders (other OCI teams, Oracle Corp teams, product management) to ensure cross-organizational dependencies are managed electively. Provide regular updates to executive management. Monitor the health of the services in the OCI fleet and drive solutions to problems before they impact Cloud capacity and availability.
Minimal Qualifications : Minimum 2+ years of management experience in Cloud Services Domain. Minimum 7+ years in large scale services. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficient with Java, Cloud Queueing Solutions, distributed systems. Bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering or related engineering fields.
Preferred Qualifications : Knowledge of cloud computing & networking technologies. Experience developing service-oriented systems, REST, python. Experience managing Tier 0 Services. Knowledge of Scrum & Agile Methodologies. Masters / Ph.D. in Computer Science.
