Aurora Behavioral Health System is Arizona's largest free-standing psychiatric hospital. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care, and we're looking for a skilled Health Information Management (HIM) Coder to join our team.

Position Overview

As an HIM Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our medical records. Your expertise in ICD-10-CM coding, chart auditing, and documentation support will directly impact patient care, hospital compliance, and reimbursement accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnostic and procedural codes in compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance).
• Audit and review medical records for quality documentation and coding accuracy.
• Provide Coding Clinic guidance, clinical indicators, and documentation support to physicians and clinical staff.
• Assist with DRG auditing and ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation standards.
• Support departmental functions as needed to maintain smooth operations.
