The EASTERN Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS) is seeking a full‑time staff physician in Gastroenterology. The position is at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Medical Center Hospital, a 60‑bed VA hospital in Tulsa. Candidates will provide a busy clinical practice, including outpatient and inpatient consults and management. The role is non‑supervisory and reports to the Chief of Medicine Specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology care, including consults, management, and intra‑hospital consults.
• Participate in endoscopy procedures at the hospital and outpatient clinic.
• Contribute to clinical care in collaboration with surgery, pathology, radiology, and other medicine staff.
• Engage in teaching opportunities in partnership with Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Oklahoma University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.
• Take part in academic activities such as research and faculty appointment, where eligible.

Qualifications

Work Schedule

Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week. The position is primarily on‑site with occasional evening or weekend coverage as needed. Telework is permitted on an ad‑hoc basis.

Compensation

Salary range : $320,000 to $400,000 per year, plus a potential annual performance bonus up to $15,000 and a sign‑on bonus.

Contract Buy Out Program

The position may be eligible for the VHA Contract Buy‑Out Program (CBOP), allowing the VA to buy out service contracts for a period of at least four years at rural or highly rural facilities.
