Unit : Medical Step Down Unit (PCU)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Duration : 13-week contract (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 17 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour day shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780 - $1910

Number of Beds : 36 (Average census : 25-30)

Nurse-Patient Ratio : 1 : 5, 1 : 6 (RC), 1 : 4 (intermediate group)

Scrubs : Black

PCU RN Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit nursing experience

Active Registered Nurse license (Compact state licenses accepted)

BLS (AHA) certification required

ACLS (AHA) certification required

NIH Stroke Scale certification

Skilled in IV insertion and clinical procedures

Ability to pass Relias exams (2 attempts allowed)

Must comply with 80-mile radius rule

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide patient care for conditions including MI, CVA, HTN, CHF, Peritoneal Dialysis, Diabetes, COPD, GI Bleed, and Respiratory Failure

Assist with procedures : chest tube insertion, central line insertion, HD tunneled catheter insertion, thoracentesis

Titrate vasoactive drips (Nitro, Cardene, Cardizem)

Float to ED, Med Surg, and ICU units as needed

Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Ensure safety and infection control standards are met
